Sarasota, Florida: Hottest Place to Be Cool

Sarasota is on the gulf side of the state of Florida; commonly referred to as ‘the pretty side’. About forty five minutes south of Tampa, it is the quintessential combination of subtropical, beauty and fantastic nightlife.

Called a ‘small little big town’, Sarasota is most famous for the Siesta Key beach.  Soft, baby powder sand that doesn’t hold heat, so that you walk across the vast white beach and your feet stay cool. There are more restaurants, night life and beach get togethers in Sarasota than one could go to in ten years of vacation.

Sarasota residents are known for their love of the arts and nature and you will find an abundance of both. Concert halls as well as outdoor events are combined with the respect of the beauty that every calls home. Visitors are welcomed and ‘the key’ is a location where the young like to hang out (and older ones like to shop).

There are bike trails, nature trails, bars, beaches and parking. Sarasota is the host of the international film festival every year and this annual event brings in a lot of celebrities. Speaking of celebrities, people would be surprised to know of the many that have homes in Sarasota. From rock stars, to television and movie celebrities to famous authors, they have taken advantage of the serene wonder of the area and many have drop-dead gorgeous estates.

Anyone that has visited Sarasota will never forget it. Unlike the tourist-traps, Sarasota is a touch of class with a blend of sass. It is that place that combines everything that you want in a get-away with an appeal for all ages. You will never be able to go to all of the restaurants in one visit, although many have tried. The sunsets are incredible, with a grand applause from the crowd each night, as a thank you for the treat. There are yoga classes and drum circles on the beach for those that want to extend themselves and just a couple of miles away you will find estuaries, which are the blessing complement to the dolphins and manatees in the warm gulf waters.
